In-Country Value and pipe bends: what ICV means for your tender

Pipetec certificates and approvals

In-Country Value, or ICV, measures how much of a company’s spending stays in the UAE: local manufacturing, local suppliers, Emirati employment and investment in the national economy. Under the national ICV programme, suppliers are independently audited and given a certified score.

Why it matters in a tender

ICV is part of how ADNOC and other UAE entities evaluate bids. A contractor’s overall ICV depends on the ICV of the goods and services it buys, so every component sourced from a locally certified manufacturer helps the main bid.

Where bends fit

Hot induction bends have traditionally been imported for large-diameter UAE projects, so they contributed little or nothing to a contractor’s local content. Bends made in Abu Dhabi change that. Pipetec’s certified ICV score is 46.52%, certificate No. 151534, valid to May 2027.

More than a score

  • Shorter lead times. No ocean freight for the finished bends, and urgent orders can be expedited.
  • Easier inspection. Third-party inspectors and client representatives can witness tests in KEZAD rather than overseas.
  • One local purchase order. Bends, fabrication, coating, pipe and logistics can be bought together under one UAE contract.

How to use it

Ask for our ICV certificate with the quotation and include it in your bid documentation. Our team can provide the details your ICV calculation needs.

Buying locally certified bends is one of the simplest ways to lift the local content of a pipeline package.
